Preparations are coming along nicely here for the Trail Desert Challenge by Rallye du Marco (in October) RUST’s Suzuki V-Strom 650XT is now sporting Metzeler Karoo Streets plus crash protection, footrests and folding gear lever by SW Motech. Been out on the trails here seeing how it works. Just about all good, although there’s not so much in the terrain to truly test the bike.
But I can at least sort the ergos (lowered ‘pegs, rotated-forwards bars – going to try small set of risers too). Got a two-day roadbook rally in Southern England booked for mid-August so can get back up to speed on navigation.
BTW, using the ‘Streets’ because the plan is to ride to the TDC from the UK, and ride back again, all on the one set of tyres… Really looking forward to the TDC. More modifications to come, of course, but looking to stay as close to stock as possible (which looks very possible!). Best JB
