2021 BMW R 1250 GS/A
BMW has made some detail upgrades to their 1250 GS/As for 2021. After a ground-up refresh in 2019 with the arrival if the powerful 136hp Shift Cam motor, for 2021 it’s a matter of a new colour variation, plus a re-spec on their already comprehensive list of electronic rider aids. Which to be fair, given this is the market leader for super-ADVs, should keep the mighty waterboxer fit for another season, probably seasons.
So what’s new?
Most obviously the addition of the 40th Anniversary (of the GS) colourway – the bumblebee colours first seen on the R 100 GS and recently replicated on the F 850 GS/As.
Making the step-up from optional to standard features are Integral ABS Pro (cornering ABS) and Dynamic Traction Control. Added to these is a new Eco mode for fuel-efficient riding.
New to the list of optional extras for the new model year: heated seats, adaptive cornering LED headlight, Hill Start Control Pro (apparently better than the current Hill Start option – hence Pro) and +30mm bar risers.
2021 BMW G 310 GS
BMW has also gently tweaked their G 310 GS. Nothing too staggering, but with all lights now LED, with four-position adjustable (front) brake and clutch levers, a change to titanium grey metallic paint on the alternator, clutch and water pump covers plus new colours (40th anniversary black/yellow and a new blue/red combination) the popular 310 GS is looking as attractive as ever.
