Dolly the sheep has a lot to answer to… Cynicism aside we welcome the new GasGas ES 700 (there’s a supermoto version too) – the latest variant on the KTM 690 Enduro R platform, joining the orange one and the white one (Husky 701).
There’s not too much to add other than to say on the basis of the spec sheet and short press release it would seem to be pretty much the KTM painted red. There are slight differences in the spec sheet but these might be creative measuring as against divergent design. For instance seat heights: KTM 929mm, Husky 920mm GG 935mm. Ground clearance: KTM 269mm Husky 270mm GG 269mm. Fuel tank: KTM 13.5l Husky 13l GG 13.5l. Suspension travel: all 250mm F&R.
Suspension is still WP XPLOR, the motor is the same, too. Same goes with rider modes, ABS etc.
Having back-to-back tested the KTM with the Husky (in LR-guise) – see RUST #46) we know each brand can come up with different settings and so a different feel for each model, so we’ll still be curious as to the character of this version.
