KTM has released a limited edition Rally version of their 790 Adventure R – looks to be a bit of a racer…
KTM has just released a new, third, variant on their 790 Adventure model, the 790 Adventure R Rally. While they say it’s positioned as the most travel capable rally bike well yes, it’s a lot more travel capable than say a 450 RR, but the focus on this bike clearly is the rally (ie race) capability. Crossing continents, at speed, with race numbers… It’s a limited edition model, just 500 being made.

So it’s a 790 Adventure R with upgrades. And here are the upgrades:
WP Xplor Pro 7548 cone valve forks – yeah, pro-race quality kit.
WP Xplor Pro 6756 shock – again pro-race kit.
The combination of the forks and shock give the Rally an additional 30mm of suspension travel over the standard Adventure R, so that’s now 270mm of travel front and rear. This also lifts the ground clearance and raises the seat height to 910mm.

Quickshifter + as standard
Clear screen and winglets
Narrower rims for competition spec rally/desert tyres
Straight enduro-style seat
Rally footrests
And finally, of course, a unique colour scheme and graphics.

No word on price as yet. As the 790 Adventure R retails in the UK at £11,999 and you can see at least £3000 of upgrades there, could it be a £15k bike? One for the dedicated rally enthusiast for sure.
